In Japanese and Korean, I would be considered a beginner.
I have been studying French for three years- I guess that makes me somewhat a step above a beginner?
Taking French in high school alerted me to the fact that I enjoy learning new languages, and in the future, should I travel, I would like to not be ignorant of my surroundings.
I plan on majoring in French and applying my knowledge in a career suitable to my talents.
I 'm fairly adept at grammar rules and vocabulary; I suppose what I would need work on the most is proper ettiquette regarding the language in its given culture.
I would like to dedicate up to three hours a day.
I have no specifics when it comes to qualities in a teacher.

I would like to learn sign language, because I want to be an interpreter as my career. I love deaf children, teens, and adults. I could seriously talk all day. I personally feel that deaf people see the world for what it really is, in silence. I'm really dedicated; I want to learn so much.

I have minor exposure to Japanese off an on, but never really turned the corner.
My girlfriend speaks Japanese and so does her family. I would like to prepare for a trip to Japan next year. I would like to reach some comfortable level of being able to conduct myself and various activies in Japan with the extended family for about 2 weeks.
I would like basics of speaking and maybe some advanced elements. I'm not sure, but it would be rewarding to learn to read too, but that is secondary.
Additionally, I would like to speak with my girlfriend in Japanese too.
