Hi! My older daughter and I are of Lithuanian heritage, and we would like to learn our the language of our ancestors' country.
W e are hardly beginners. We have used Pimsleur tapes, but we would really like to have someone to talk to.
We could meet weekly, or twice weekly, an hour or so at a time, if that works for you.
We live in Aurora and would prefer to meet with you within 10 miles of our home.

My name is Ryan Mehan. I took one semester of Mandarin Chinese a couple years ago, but aside from watching quite a few Chinese movies and reading a handful of books, that is the extent of my studies, which means that I am very much a beginner. My interest in this language is both personal and professional. I hope to travel all over China some day, maybe even live there. I know too that there are
Chinese speaking communities throughout Asia and all over the world. On a more serious note, I am currently a medical worker for the Navy and I hope to become a nurse back in San Francisco some day. Knowing Mandarin will greatly help my career both in and out of the military.

I lived in Chiang Mai in 2005 and spent this past summer in Bangkok. While in Chiang Mai I took intensive thai lessons for 3 months and became nearly fluent.
I learnt to write only a couple letters and would like to learn to read and write more, as well as develop and maintain my speaking abilities.
