I would like to learn it because it is a language that interests me. The Japanese culture fascinates me and I wish to study abroad there my junior year of high school. I am currently a freshman. A minimum of one year is required to attend, so I would like to learn. I am a beginner. I feel that the area that I would need the most help in would be grammar and sentence structure. I taught myself to read, after a fashion, Czech books about Czechoslovak postage stamps. I have translated about 50 of these into English and they are quite popular with stamp collectors in the English speaking world. However, I am having difficulty mastering vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar and must resort to a dictionary for almost every word. I have Skype with video and voice, if that is an asset. I have visited the Czech Republic several times during the past few years but I have never learned to speak or write Czech.
