I am seeking to develop full fluency in speaking and reading Mandarin Chinese, as I anticipate career advancement for this particular skill. My proficiency level can be described as conversationa l in terms of speaking (as I speak it at home with family), and minimal in terms of reading. I would like to improve both of these to the level of high proficiency- capable of discussing complex and abstract concepts. Well I'm interested in learning portuguese because I might be traveling to Brazil often and it's a very popular language so I'm sure it will be useful to learn it.
