I am a beginner with almost no understanding of the russian language. I would like to learn russian beacause I am very interested in the language, the culture, and the people of Russia. Hello,
I am an undergraduate student in the DC area interested in the Punjabi region and its language.
I am considering applying for a U.S. State Dept. Critical Language Scholarship for the study of Punjabi in India this summer, but before I begin the application process, I would like to ascertain that I would be able to continue my Punjabi studies upon my return.
To that end, I am inquiring about any Punjabi language classes/priva te tutors in the area, and the associated rates.

Why do I want to learn Chinese and Japanese?
Studying other languages and learning about world culture is a huge passion of mine. Last summer, I lived in Japan for about 2 months (on a foreign exchange program). I was lucky enough to have the experience of everyday life and learning with a family in Japan.
This year, I will be going on another full year exchange program to Taiwan. I am very excited to learn more about Chinese culture, with a Chinese family, and I am interested in learning how to speak Mandarin (starting now, before I get there...)
My proficiency level:
I am a beginner in Mandarin Chinese. I know I still have lots of work to do!
My foreign language experience:
I have been studying Japanese for just about two years.
I had studied Spanish in school for over five years.
How much time do I want to dedicate:
A lot! A little on my own everyday, and at least once or twice a week (which would be awesome) with a teacher. I really want to delve into Mandarin as much as I can before I will be travelling there this fall...
Wh at qualities am I looking for:
A person who really would like to teach Mandarin! (haha) A person who would share some fun conversationa l skills, and useful tips, along with the 'chapter'. A person who likes to be versatile with learning, and have fun! :)
