Definitly a beginner, although I do have some grasp of the language as my family is all from Belgium and I have spent several months living there recently. I have a decent understanding of the vocabulary, but I am having difficulty with speaking due to my fear of sounding stupid as my dutch grammar is not very good. Would be willing to dedicate a few hours at a time, for as many days/months as necessary.

I want to learn Dutch because my father is dutch and I want to be able to work in Netherlands since I have a dutch passport.
I would like to spend about 2 hrs a week for lessons to start and see how I am progressing and increase it from there.
I will review and learn on my own atleast 1 hr per day.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher are that the teacher is dependable and can be easily contacted if I have a question.

Hi, my name is Nynke. I would like to learn more Dutch because I spoke it as a child and don’t want to lose it before I have my own children; I’d like them to learn as well. I would like to learn to read and write in Dutch (which I can’t do at all at the moment) and I would also like to improve my vocabulary for speaking. Currently I am at a pretty basic level because I have no one to practice speaking with. For the reading and writing lessons I would not mind doing them by mail or email or something but for the speaking part I would rather be face to face. I would be willing to travel (but not too far). Please email me if you are in or near Ottawa and would be interested!
