I am a school psychologist in San Jose that works with many Spanish speaking families and have been studying Spanish off nad on fjor the past two years. Las summer I studied for 3 weeks in Antigua, Guatemala. I am able to converse some but not fluently. I would like either private or small group (3-4 students)for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours per week, preferably one time per week, after 3:30 in the afternoon. I would also like to travel more. My goals include learning to understand conversation, radio, TV in Spanish and to communicate efficiently. Reading and writing in Spanish is secondary but, if time permits, I would like to work on that also. I am interested in cultlure, education, art, current affairs and politics and would be most interested in conversstion in Spanish on these topics.

My son just finished 8th grade, and we are looking for either a private language tutor. or school for this summer (June-August 2007). He is very smart, but he has no experience at all with Chinese.

I have been teaching myself Gaeilge with the help of tapes, books and online resources. I can hold a polite conversation, but have no one to practice anything more in depth with. Because no one in the area knows the language, it is difficult for me to maintain a grasp on what I have and take steps forward. I am dedicated to my personal study time and can practice on my own if I were able to count on at least a few hours a week of study with a class or tutor.
