I am a beginner in Bengali. I plan to visit Bangladesh, (Dhaka division) in the next year or so to meet my future in-laws. They know little, if any English. I know a few words of Bangla.
At this time, I am interested in learning conversation and grammar. I do not need to learn Bangla alphabet or reading at this time.
I would like one weekly lesson, perhaps more. This depends upon the price of lessons. I can devote some time each day to study and practice.
I have email, skype and possibly live video capabilities for the lessons.
I have tried to learn Bangla on my own. I have several resources. My problem has been forgetting things because of lack of regular practice and lack of a disciplined schedule for study.
I believe that with a professional teacher I will be able to study more regularly and better retain the information.
