I am an absolute beginner in Hungarian (2 months only). I am learning Hungarian for pleasure since I know a few Hungarians (in Hungary)and would like to be able to undertake simple conversations with them and be able to make myself understood in Hungary ( they are fluent in English). I want to progress beyond the'phrase book' approach. My greatest concern is grammar. The rules are complex but obviously some are more important to know than others. Also, there are times when I just do not understand why you use, say, 1st rather than 2nd person etc. I spend about one hour each day but would initially be looking for say a one , perhaps a two hour, session per week. I am looking for a teacher who can explain the reason for a particular construction. NOTE: I am a bit hard of hearing , which is not a good start, so a strong rather than light voiced teacher would be required.
I have two CDs with vocabulary and pronunciation excersises and am slowly building up my vocabulary.

My husband and I would like to learn to speak portugese as we visit the Algarve several times per year. We have made friends but their english is limited and our portugese is non existent apart from using a dictionary! We would like to learn general conversation, grammar etc. We can dedicate one evening per week. We can either travel out to learn but would prefer home visit if possible.

Have been taking lessons one-to-one but need more. Current tutor has no more availability.

We are hoping to take good conversationa l spanish with us along with a good grounding in the formal structure of the language. Have been working through BBC Viva Espania with current tutor.
