Business and personal reasons. I can understand basic Hindi, but cannot speak the language. I am only interested in conversation and not in reading or writing. Hello, my name is sam, and I work in a pre-school.
I have been learning some key words in different languages for the last few months to help myself in my role as multi cultural co-ordinator, colleagues and the children and families within my setting.
We have some children starting with us soon who do not speak any English. I wish to learn Hindi to be able to put the children and families at ease and to aid their transition into pre-school. I would feed back to my colleagues so we can all converse with the children.
I have been trying to teach myself with books but I am not getting on very well with them, and learn alot better being able to hear and see what I am meant to do ie, how to move your tounge etc.
I do not want to rush learning the language but obviously do need to learn quite soon to help the children.

I have wanted to learn hindi for a long time now but even more so now as i am going to be working in a hospital in Delhi in summer 2010 as part of my medical degree.
I am a beginner and am more interested in being able to speak rather than read and write the langauge. I am willing to spend all of my free time studying the langauge.
I would like a teacher who is a native hindi speaker and relatively flexible with teaching times.
