I am a beginner as I only know a few words of Czech.
The reason I want to learn to speak Czech is that my girlfriend is Czech and I would like to be able to speak to her in her native tongue.
I need improvement in all areas.
I will dedicate as much time as needed however I do have responsibilit ies here which must come first so the hours of the day are somewhat limited. I am busy Monday thru Friday from 7:00 am to 8:00 am and 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm taking my next door neighbors grand daughter to and from the school bus stop. I am also busy Monday thru Friday 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm feeding my mother and taking her to and from work. I am also busy Monday thru Friday 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm or 7:00 pm fixing dinner for my mother and myself.
Th e qualities I am looking for is someone who is patient and will explain things to me so that I do understand them. I would like to be able to know enough to hold a some what intelligent conversation with my girlfriend in her native Czech language as she does speak some English but there are many things that I say to her that she does not understand and it would be much easier if I could explain them to her in Czech.

I tried very informal tutoring about 12 years ago, but I was unable to retain very much. I am a native English speaker who is also fluent in German and can survive in French and Spanish. My grandfather was 100% Czech/Slovak and his parents emigrated from Southern Moravia about 100 years ago. I plan to do family research one day. I am willing to settle for kinds of communication that can only be supported online (i.e. not in person), figuring that if I would need to get up to conversationa l speed, I would probably do that by immersion one day.
I am willing to put in about 6 hours a week on this (1 hour a day for 6 days, exc. Sunday). I'd like my instructor to be methodical, preferably with a syllabus, and to be open to many kinds of communication (not just oral/face-to- face).

I was born in Prague, Czech Republic and I can speak fairly well. However, I struggle with grammar, writing, and reading. I would like to learn the appropriate way to speak, read, and mainly write.
