I studied Danish for about 4 months in college. I have a good grasp of pronunciation , but it needs a lot of work.
I'm interested in the history of Scandinavia, and Scandinavian mythology. Scandinavian linguistics and language evolution are my main academic interests in learning the language.
I chose Danish specifically because I loved how it sounded the first time I heard it. Denmark also has a close connection with Iceland and the Faeroes, which is another part of why I chose Danish.
I will begin studying on my own for about a half hour a day. As far as lessons, I like them to be topical. Maybe one day a dialogue about eating in a restaurant, the next a mock job interview. I'd also like to have conversations about articles online.
I' m open to suggestion on ways to learn. I just need to get it underway.

Total beginner, However I do speak Arabic extremely well, and I imagine that will help some.
I am wanting to learn in order to expand my area of expertise outside of the Middle East.
I want to focus on conversation, as I believe this is the best way to learn all aspects of a language.
I want to study two hours, once a week.
I am looking for a native speaker, who teaches by speaking with me, reading with me, and going over my writing. I believe that this kind of teacher is far superior to someone who just talks at me, or only teaches grammer.

English is my native language. I am a 55 year old man with college degree and speak/write/r ead intermediate Spanish as well. My goal is to learn Russian so that I can communicate with Russian women. I seek a Russian speaking wife for two years and is difficult to deal through interpreters on private dates. I do not know any Russian. I can be flexible in my schedule...I am thinking 3 or 4 times per week, private lessons in home. I want a professional teacher with a plan that he or she is comfortable with. I would like to be able to have a basic conversation in Russian in six months time.

I am a beginner who has little (if any) access to learning Japanese in a live environment. My goal is to be fluent in Japanese as I wish to do business there in the near future.
I' m looking for a laid back teacher with a good personality and extensive experience; I would also appreciate interactive teaching methods which could include setting me up with a pen pal and possibly total immersion at some point.
