I am a beginner wanting to learn Polish. I am learning to interact with Polish people in Chicago and to maybe go to college in Poland and then live in Poland. I would like to be able to speak it and understand it before learning how to write and read. I will spend as much time needed to learn how to speak it and understand as quickly as possible. I have a very basic Korean proficiency level. I am just a beginner.
I would like to learn Korean in order to qualify for a Fulbright scholarship. I am also hopeful that Korean will benefit me in my future career.
I have been teaching myself Korean through a textbook and learning through the Rosetta Stone, but this isn't enough. I must have at least two semester's worth of Korean in order to qualify for the Fulbright. If I am awarded the fulbright, I will be studying in South Korea starting around July or August of 2010. I know some vocabulary and basic sentences and grammar, but need improvement in all areas. Even if I do not recieve the grant to study in South Korea, I am still very much interested in the language and culture and plan on continuing the study of the Korean language.
I am willing to dedicate a few hours a week to language lessons. I would like lessons that focus on both grammar and conversation both written and verbal.
