Dear Sir or Madam,

I am an American learning Hindi in preparation for traveling to India on a research grant. I will be in Ecuador in April and May 2010 and wish to complete 30 hours of tutoring in Hindi. My ideal schedule would be 6-8 hours a week, every other week. This would allow us to have 2-hour tutoring sessions 3-4 times a week on one week, and then spend time traveling around the country on the alternate week.

I do not speak Spanish well, and so the Hindi lessons would have to be taught in English, not Spanish. I will have completed two quarters of Hindi lessons already, so will be at the advanced beginner level. After completing approximately 30 hours of tutoring with you, I would need to know Hindi at a level equivalent to one year of study.

I would also need you to write a letter at the end of our tutoring period indicating the number of hours we had spend together and the level of Hindi knowledge I had reached. This would be necessary for me to get credit for the lessons with the Indian research grant institution.
