  • Description

    Hello,

I work in Glasgow as a foreign language assistant (for French) in primary and secondary schools. The last of my staying is 9 months (until the 31st of May). Meanwhile I've registered at a university in France to a Master 1 of French as Foreign Language, in order to teach French to foreigners in the future. I am going to study on my own for this master and sit the exam in June in France. One of the subject for this exam is 'Arabic as beginner'.
I've chosen this subject for personal and professional purposes. I would like to learn the basis of the Arabic language first of all because it may be usefull for me to understand how it works if I teach French to Arabic-native -speakers in the future. I am also interested in the writing which is very different from the latin alphabet, and in the fact that an important part of the population on earth share this language and its culture.
I am a beginner but I have taken some lessons with friends and at the university, so I can read and write some easy sentences like 'my name is', 'how are you?', but as I said, I would like to learn the basis, I mean the grammatical basis, being able to introduce myself, speaking about the daily life, reading and writing properly. I think the best would be for me to learn academic Arabic and maybe have an overview of different dialects.
My goal for this year is obviously to pass the exam at the end of the year (I think I can have the programm from my teacher in France) but not only, I mean I am really interested and this exam is just the occasion to give me the motivation to study seriously.
