Why I want to learn: My fiance is Ethiopian so learning her language is very important to me. Plus I will be moving to Addis Ababa in 3 months so I would like to be able to speak at a beginner-inte rmediate level.

My Proficiency: Beginner.

Areas I need improvement: Every area, especially conversation.

How much time do I want to dedicate to my lessons per week: 5-10 hours tutor time and 20-30 hours study time. This is negotiable for my abilities and my timeline of arriving in Addis in 3 months.

Wh at qualities am I looking for in a teacher: Most important is experience. I would like to talk to someone who can tell me, with confidence, that they have successfully instructed many students like myself who are in a similar situation as myself. Please be able to explain your method of teaching and sell me on that method. I do not know anything about the different styles of learning Amharic if there are any, so please describe your method. And of course a competetive price. I do not know my best learning method because this will be the first alternative language I have ever tried to learn. I would like to speak to my possible teacher through phone or skype before hiring please. Thank you.
