Greetings
I figured I would reach out into the internet and see what tools were available that could help someone learn a new language. So doing a Google search unveiled this website. The overall point to the website is very good; I just think it needs a little moderation by the owners. Too many people are simply unaware of what each section is actually being used for. But it is a wonderful tool for bringing people from all different languages, cultures and countries together to learn.
I am trying to learn as much as I can about Greenland. Unfortunately, Greenland isn't listed on this website. Denmark is listed and I suppose there are many immigrants from Greenland who live there. In my quest to learn, Danish and Greenlandic are the languages they mainly speak. Greenlandic is next to impossible to find any material on, so I gave up searching. Since Danish is used by several million worldwide, I was able to find a couple of sources to study from. Rosetta Stone actually has a Level 1 software which I purchased and currently learning. I subscribed to Greenland Today, the only magazine distributed worldwide that has articles about the country.
I guess it was a good starting point into the Danish language.
I am from United States, living in New York City. I am a System Analysis for a hospital (Computer Job). In my Mid 30's, like just about everything Music, Movies, Books... whatever. I go backpacking on occasion in my local area. There are some nice national parks with hiking trails. I am working on putting my pictures on a website - once done I can post the link so you guys can take a peak.
Ok I rambled on enough. That's it for now-
Good to meet you all!!!!!
Ron
