Yes, it is proper, it is the correct translation for sweet, dulce. Are you trying to say it in what expression, as a person is sweet? Or are you speaking about a candy?

Hello Patricia. In Spain you can use "dulce" when you are talking of food or in a figurative sense when you talk about something good that has happended to you, for example "Estoy en un momento dulce" means that this is a good part of your life or work.

You can't use use "dulce" when you want to refer to somebody you love. In this case you must use "cariño" o "cielo". These words are very used in Spain but we never use "dulce". Probably in other Spanish countrys, people use other words in this ocasions.
