I am glad to join your community
I am looking for an English-speaking or French-speaking friend who is studying Russian and interested in improving individual language skills. I am 26 years old, a philologist of Russian language and literature, live in Moscow. It will be great if you check your e-mail regularly, because it will permit us not only correct our mistakes, but also to be friens a bit :o) - to maintain everyday talk and to share emotions... Hope to hear from you soon, Vera

Seeking Danish
Hello all!!

I am currently a student studying music in the U.S. and I am seeking to study the Danish language. I one day hope to obtain citizenship in Denmark in about 10 year, but for now I am trying learning the Danish language, culture, history and more!

In return of helping me learn Danish, I will help with the English language and the culture and history of the United States

Hebrew for English or Spanish
!הֶלוֹ, אֲנִי שֵׁם מָרכּ, רוֹצֶה לִלְמוֹד לְדַבֵּר עִבְרִית

I wish I could write more. I'm not quite a beginner, but I do still have to look up nearly every word in the dictionary to make sure I'm spelling it right. I would never presume to say that spelling in Hebrew is as difficult as in English (I've studied foreign languages from all over Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and no language ever spoken is as hard to spell as English!!!), but I do find it very challenging, knowing when to use Aleph, Ayin, or Hay, when to use qamatz or patach, when to use segol, or tsareh, and why on earth anyone would ever want to put a schva before an ayin--I would really like to understand that one!

But I love foreign language, and am always eager to learn more. Lately I've been reading a lot of religious texts from all over the world, and got excited about learning to read the Torah in Hebrew--of course, I'm guessing that reading Shakespeare in English is a lot easier than reading the Torah from studying modern Hebrew, but it can't hurt, and, anyway, it's language.

I can help with English or Spanish, and I can help beginners with French, German, or Mandarin Chinese. I teach writing in college, so I'm pretty highly skilled in terms of teaching language in general and English in particular.

I'm 44, male, living in Sacramento, CA, and I love everything--music, theater, art, philosophy, politics, culture, religion, spirituality, movies, books, technology. I can't talk to intelligently about sports, but there aren't a whole lot of things I won't enjoy chatting about. I'm studying to be a bartender while I'm at this.

I would love to learn how to say, "I'm very proud of you" in Hebrew.

I look forward to meeting you. I'm not a Gold member, so the ball's in your court.
