I am a middle-aged woman with a Ph.D. in English literature. I was born in Belgrade, left to live in Germany for 1 1/2 years (during which time I spoke fluent German), then came to the U.S. when I was 11. Since I've not used either language, I've gotten seriously rusty and am looking to practice Serbian and German.
Also interested in just having penpals from around the world.
My passion is writing science fiction. I also have a big interest in spirituality.

Je suis francophile et j'enseigne le francais en immersion. J'aimerais avoir l'occasion de parler avec un/une francophone au telephone cet ete. Ce serais moi qui payerais pour les coups de telephone. J'aimerais aussi parler par courriel mais c'est l'oral que je voudrais pratiquer le plus. Je m'interesse a parler des nouvelles, peut-etre des articles que je lis dans l'Actualite.

I'm an American from Arizona, have 3 daughters, and an insatiable interest in foreign languages. I can speak German fairly well and Russian a little, but would like to get better. I took 2 years of Russian in school, but have forgotten most. I've learned a few words in Czech, but would like to improve. I'm very interested in slavic languages and Eastern European culture.
