Re:Re:some english slang:
Dope is a word that has changed in meaning. Formally, it is a noun that means a stupid person. For example: I can't believe Jordan forgot to turn in his paper. He is such a dope. Now, there is an informal meaning of cool. Many words that used to mean bad things have changed, so that their meaning now is cool or awesome. Dope, sick, the shit, mean, all CAN mean really cool. For example: That new bar is dope, man.
Corny should only be spelled with a C. It means something or someone is too sweet or emotional, to the point that they are not cool. If you go on a date with a guy, and he recites love poetry on the first date, he is corny. This is not a good thing. For example: That guy was so corny, I wanted to barf.
By the way, shortening words for text messages is NOT slang. That is a shorthand form of typing. It is mostly only used by younger people in the U.S. (and I am only 25, so I mean very young). It is often seen as unprofessional and ignorant, and should not be used unless you are texting someone who does the same.
While this could be acceptable: How are u today? This is NOT: Hw R U tdy?
It has gotten really bad here, and makes people seem lazy and dumb.
