has anyone read "thousand splendid suns" or "the kite runner" by khaled hosseini? how about Frank McCourt's "angelas ashes"? "The secret life of bees" by sue monk kid? how about " the vanishing act of esme lennox"? id love to discuss any of these...

I have read "Kite Runner" and "A thousand splendid suns" is on my pending list.

I loved/hated "Kite runner", which I think is a good thing, since the point of a novel is to make you feel what the characters are going through. My point of view, my perspective, is that te main focus of the novel i about the loss and fragility of innocence. How tarnished the life of child can become by the senseless acts of hate between human beigns. But not all is grief and tragedy, there are some beautiful traits that are portrayed in a unique way; customs, values, hope, which are seen through the eyes of afghani innocence... There's just so much about this novel that I could keep writing forever.
