Hi, Monique! Yes, you are almost right. Russians and Bulgarians can talk to one another and understand main meaning of speech. But much words are different and we need to divine what do they mean.
Same situation with Slovenija and little bit worse with Czech

Wow great! I'm an absolute beginner but had maybe a hangout with Angela Merkel (you never know on Internet as we all know). Here is my question:
Does Russian, except for the alphabeth, about which I know already that it is the same as the Bulgarian one, resemble the latter? Can Russians and Bulgarians talk to one another as e.g. Scandinavians from different countries can?
Also for Bulgarian I'm a beginner although I'm a little bit more progressed.
(I have no idea how to help you with your English but you can always suggest.)

Er was eens een ventje dat niet kon spreken. Het kon alleen maar zingen. Op zekere dag vloog zijn huis in brand. Hij belt de pompiers op en zingt: "En mijn huis staat in brand."
De brandweerman antwoordt ook al zingend: "Tjoelala! Tjoelala!"

Who is interest in learning spanish, italian or english.
Hi everyone,my name is Javier Sosa Cavicchioni, i'm new in this website, i have arrived to Ingolstadt, South Germany.
I would like to learn German in Exchange of spanish, italian or english. I am a spanish mother tongue, i have lived i italy for 8 years and i studied there at the languages university.
Also, i woul like to meet people in person, i think it is better to learn a Language.
