I really liked this Chrisanta. Some more things to think about - why is the plural of 'goose' geese, but of 'mongoose' mongooses? (we're still at it - rodent 'mice' but computer 'mouses'). Turkeys don't come from Turkey but from the Americas (at least English isn't the only confused one, some languages, including Turkish, think they come from India). And butterflies aren't flies (like most insects ending in -fly)and where on earth does the butter come from? And shouldn't 'inflammable' mean the opposite of 'flammable', what's the point of 2 words meaning the same? OK, I'm off and going to keep away from any 'humanitarians' now!
