I've heard "Gevalt" in many contexts, but not really disappointment. I've definitely heard it expressed as fear or in danger, but never as disappointment. Do you have an example of "Gevalt" being used to convey disappointment? Thank You.
Instead of "Gevalt!", in English we say ""Oh My God" (Rashei Teyvos: "OMG")"
