Re:recipes from all over the world
Hello Ute, I am Cindy, I am mexican-american and have some filipino family too. So I know how to cook mexican, american and some filipino food. Today I will share my favorite American Sweet Bread. I love to make it when fall begins.
Pumpkin Bread
3 1/2 cups Flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp allspice or pumpkin pie spice 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cloves
3 cups sugar 1 cup oil (vegetable) 4 eggs 2/3 cup of water 1 can (15 oz.) pumpkin puree
Mix all dry ingredients (except sugar) in lagre bowl. Mix all wet ingredients and sugar in another large bowl. Then slowly add the wet mixed ingredients into the bowl of dry mix. Mix well and place into 3 greased and floured bread pans. Bake at 315 degrees for 1 hour. Yeilds 3 loafs. An freezes very well for up to 2 months, keeps for 3 weeks in refridgerator.
FYI: tsp. means teaspoon, tblsp. means tablespoon
