I love Isabel Allende books, you can try Retrato en Sepia or La casa de los espíritus. I wanted to recommed García Márquez but it´s a little complicated if you are learning spanish, maybe you can try some short books from Mario Vargas Llosa (Peruvian) excelent writer. Good luck!

¡Hola! Estoy leyendo 'Unplanned' ahora en ingles, mi lengua materna, para mi escuela. He hablado ingles toda mi vida y estoy aprendiendo español ahora. Me encanta literatura también y quiero poder hablar con otras personas sobre libros en español. ¿Qué es tu libro favorito? Recently I just finished a story(un cuento para los niños) by Isabel Allende and I love it very much.
Any short and interesting spanish novels? Right now I cannot understand something by Garcia Marquez.

O Νίκος Καζαντζάκης είναι ίσως ο πιο αγαπημένος μου Έλληνας συγγραφέας. Κατα τη γνώμη μου το βιβλίο που αναφέρεις είναι καλό, αλλά όχι το καλύτερο. Αν θέλεις να διαβάσεις άλλα έργα του Νίκου Καζαντζάκη θα σου πρότεινα:
1) Ο Τελευταίος Πειρασμός (English title: The Last Temptation)
2) O Χριστός Ξανασταυρώνεται (English title: Christ Recrucified)
3) Ο φτωχούλης του Θεού (Unfortunately, I don't know if there is an english translation of this)

He leido el libro de Paul Sussman. Me encanta. El título es El Enigma de Cambises. Este libro es un aventura en Egipcio. Yo he leído en español y mi hija en inglés. Aveces no quiero acabar leyendo.

Books to help me learn Spanish
I am at intermediate level with Spanish and am interested in reading Spanish fiction. If anyone can recommend any books I would be very grateful.
I would also like to learn Spanish by chatting with people and I can offer English in return. I am English and work in education.
