As a linguist I'm interested in studying Balto-Finnic languages that are on the verge of disappearing. These include Votic (Votian), Ingrian, Veps. In 2001 I participated in a linguistic expedition to Leningradsky Oblast, Russia (near St. Petersburg) during which I studied the morphology of Votic in cooperation with native speakers. I'm also studying Finnish in order to do a more profound research in Balto-Finnic languages.
