This really is not a term used to describe emotional people, but rather people of a subculture generally in America. It's a stereotype really. I can be emotional, but that doesn't make me emo. :P For those of you that don't know, the 'emo' stereotype is of either a girl, or a very feminine male, with hair covering one eye, that wears tight clothing and is generally depressed and cuts themselves.
Instead of "Emo", in English we say "emo"
