I tailor my lessons to my students' needs so I would always have an intial interview to determine the level of knowledge of the students and their preferences in terms of learning styles. As a college graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, I use my understanding of the fundamental similarities and differences across languages to put myself in my students' shoes, in order to allow them to fully comprehend the ways English and Spanish function differently or similarly to their own native language. My teaching approach is practical, creative, and personalized. I believe that language is best learned when it feels natural and fun. I use real-life situations, conversations , songs, visual aids, role-plays, and cultural comparisons to make learning meaningful and relevant. I pay close attention to how each student learns best, some prefer visuals, others learn better by doing or listening so I adjust my methods accordingly.
What makes my lessons unique is that I create a comfortable, judgment-free space where students feel confident to make mistakes, try new words, and grow. I also draw on my background in drama and corporate training to build strong speaking and listening skills, whether the student is preparing for travel, work, or just personal growth.
