As a college graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, I use my understanding of the fundamental similarities and differences across languages to put myself in my students' shoes, in order to allow them to fully comprehend the ways English and Spanish function differently or similarly to their own native language. I have taken Phonetics within my Linguistics education, and can aid students in producing English that sounds like it is coming from a native speaker's mouth. I have many hours of tutoring and teaching experience.

In English:
I offer lessons in grammar, pronunciation , writing skills, public speaking, conversationa l fluency, prose composition, formal English composition (such as resumes and cover letters), and vocabulary expansion (including idiomatic expressions).
In Spanish:
I offer lessons in grammar, pronunciation , composition, and comprehension .

I have tutored a range of students, from age 9 to 17. I have tutored a range of class sizes, from 1-on-1 private tutoring to a class of 7 students. I have taught and tutored English as a Second Language and as a Foreign Language. I have lived in Spanish-speak ing countries.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from one of the top 20 Linguistics programs in the United States. I am a private tutor, with many hours of teaching experience.

When are you available for tutoring each week?
My schedule is fairly free each week in the afternoons, with good flexibility on weekends as well. Please contact me and we will work something out.
How do you prefer to receive payment from customers?
I prefer to be paid in cash, in person. I accept check as well, however.

Cost of Lessons
|
|
|
I charge $30 per hour, with an additional $5 per session if I am required to take a bus to meet with the student.
F or example,
a 90-minute tutoring session within walking distance would cost $45.
A 60-minute (1 hour) session where I must take the bus would cost $35.
