I studied Portuguese for some time back in Europe but I would now like to pick it up again.
The reason is quite simple: Portuguese is a very beautiful language that can give me access to interesting literature and a very diverse cultural background - I am hoping to travel to Portuguese-sp eaking countries in Africa, South America and of course to Portugal and I would like to be able to communicate with locals when I am there.
I can manage to read entire books in Portuguese - chiefly also because I am fluent in French and Italian and I can normally guess the meaning of most words if I don't know them. I would like to now improve my speaking and writing skills and also my pronunciation . Also, my knowledge of Portuguese grammar could do with a brushing up.
I can spend 2-4 hours per week.
In terms of language teacher I am really looking for someone who I can talk to and who can correct my mistakes; also someone who can explain why it was a mistake. But they do not have to be a certified language teacher.
