I just got back from living in Sao Paulo Brasil for to months. I went knowing no Portuguese and came back knowing alot more than i expected. I would like to keep learning so that i don't loose it. I will be moving to calgary to get a job and go to school and i would like to learn portuguese as i do all this as i plan on going back.

I was born in Canada and was first introduced to German at University (1990-1995). I also spent 1 year in Germany 1993-94 during which time I took evening classes and enrolled in a 3 month language course. I was completely immersed in the culture during that year. I even attended a University level History course.
In 1995 my German language skills were very strong, both in grammar and vocabulary. Since 1995 I have visited Germany several times but my language abilities have greatly declined through disuse. I plan eventually to move back to Germany, and need to improve my language skills in preparation for that.
I would prefer to be part of a small course (2-3 people), taught by a native speaker.

I am just beginning. I have tried to learn by tapes and books.
I want to learn because Spanish is so prevelant in the US, almost the second language.
I don't think I can learn it unless someone teaches it to me by immersing me into it.
I work full time so it would have to be in the evenings.
