I am a 15 year old student in the US. My interests are books, entertainment and anything to do with Ireland. I want to learn this language because obviously it is involved with Ireland but also because I think it is beautiful.

I'm learning all kinds of languages at the moment—for most of them, just the phonology, and for Spanish and Icelandic, the whole deal. I'm well-versed in phonologies; I feel there's tremendous worth, though, in hearing speakers' perceptions of them. Also, right now, I'm translating a song for its lyricist: the idea's to put it into a whole range of chewy tongues, switching off by line, many more than the four language blanks above afford. I would love, if it wouldn't be too much of an imposition on the wonderful members of this community, to send off individual lines and get each back put through the linguistic prism of another land.

I would like to learn enough Turkish to travel in Turkey. I have some familiarity with Spanish (enough to travel in Mexico and Colombia), and a nodding acquaintance with German (studied as a child). I have worked with students who are studying English as a second language at the college level. I enjoy languages and would like to learn more. I am especially interested in learning about Turkish culture.
