A language exchange with a pen pal from Beacon is an excellent way to make a friend from Beacon, learn about its culture and improve
your foreign language skills.
This type of exchange is suitable for langauge learners of all skill levels, even beginners.
Because you have a common goal to help each other learn while discussing common interests,
you are likely to make meaningful friendships.
Compared to live conversation, there is less pressure, because you can take your time to use a dictionary or refer to your lessons at a time of your convenience.
It is also a great way to improve your writing, reading and grammar skills.

My name is Meghan Wood. I am from New York. I am a senior at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. I am studying international studies in communications. I also have a minor in spanish and global studies. I play softball, basketball, and volleyball. Reading, listening to music and dancing are some of my favorite pastimes. I also read alot about wines from all around the world. Finally, I am fascinated by the spanish culture, the food, the dance, the language. For me, learning the language is one way to learn more about the culture. I am hoping to go to graduate school in a Spanish speaking country.
