I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese. My boyfriend is sponsoring his parents to move here from Beijing in 2 years. His mother does not speak English and I would like to be able to communicate with her to some degree without a translator. I do not speak any Mandarin aside from counting to ten and a few basic words. I would like to attend class for one or perhaps two sessions per week. In a teacher, I like someone who is personable, understanding and relaxed....an d very patient. I am a single mother of three, so some flexibility in scheduling would be greatly appreciated. I very much look forward to beginning my studies and surprising my boyfriend with my accomplishmen ts.

I would like to learn chinese for personnal interest. I have taken a one year mandarin course 20 years ago at Ottawa University, but I have forgotten what I have learned. I would like to focus on conversation but also using a textbook so that I may learn pinyin and maybe some caracters also.
I would like to dedicate one to three hours a week on learning, but it may be more depending on how things are progressing.
