I am interested in learning beginning Punjabi. I know some small phrases but really want to learn pronunciation and increase my vocabulary so I can communicate with my Punjabi friends. I have been interested in India and Punjab for a few years. It is very hard to find text books and classes to learn Punjabi. I am interested to find out what classes are available in the evenings in my area.

A year ago I married my wife... She is Indian. She tries to teach me some conversationa l punjabi, but she is not a teacher. We are having a baby and it is very important that his father can also speak his mom's language. Her parents do not speak english so it is also very important to me to learn the language so I can communicate with my in-laws.
I would be willing to devote whatever time it takes to have a reasonable command of conversationa l punjabi by October of this year.
I do pick language up fairly quickly, but I would need a teacher with patients who is willing to take on a beginner who's committed to learning.
