I am very much the beginner. I haven't ever taken any kind of Gaelic. I have taken both French and Spanish, but I don't know if this will help me learn Scottish Gaelic. I would like to learn Scottish Gaelic, because I want to at least visit Scotland. I am seriously considering moving to the Scotland Highlands. I need help in all areas of learning Gaelic. The amount of time I would like to dedicate to my lessons is two hours of studying a day seven days a week and at least one hour a lesson for three or four days a week. The qualities I am looking for in my teacher is someone who is patient and willing to talk to me in Gaelic in order to help me learn it better. I would like to have someone who has a great grasp on both languages. It doesn't matter to me if Gaelic is the primary language spoken by the teacher, as long as this person is able to speak just as well and fluently in English. I had a Spanish teacher who had no idea how to put Spanish words into English for us to understand what she was saying.

My name is Rob and I am interested in learning Scot's Gaelic. My great grandfather moved from Scotland in the early nineteen hundreds so I have been interested in all things Scottish since childhood. I'm looking for someone who can help me with the pronunciation and basic sentence structure. I do have study materials that I'm working with. I am just starting out learning gaelic. I purchased a book/cd combo to teach myself but would love to have someone local (within 1 hour of sioux falls) to maybe meet and talk with to help me learn and give me pointers.

my level of profiencey is as a very, very, beginner.
i want to learn because i love to learn new languages.
i need learning in all areas of the language, i am particularly an audio/speakin g learner. so i need to hear the language spoken properly and concisely to learn it.
if the price isn't too pricey i would be interested in at least once a week.
the qualities i need would preferable be that the teacher is the native of that language, that the teacher is friendley, compassionate , and patient. also someone who is a people person, not just business oriented.

hello im a beginner in learning the scottish language. the reason i want to learn gaelic is because i would like to learn about my scottish heritage i need improvement in about all the fields of the language i would like to spend about an hour and a half for lessons im looking for a teacher thats fluent and good at instructing.
