I lead an NGO in Ethiopia, and travel there several times per year. (I have spent 10 weeks in Ethiopia so far this year, for example.) My goal is to move to Ethiopia. It's time I learn to truly speak the language!
I will dedicate as much time as necessary to learn Amharic.
I would like individual lessons, with some opportunities to 'practice' with other Amharic speakers, or a small group classroom setting.

My name is kayla, and i would like to learn mandarin.. It is a language that has always facinated me, and in today's world, the better you can communicate with a wide array of different people, the better equipped you are in many areas, including, but not limited to jobs and travel. i have tried on my own to learn mandarin from programs such as rosetta stone, but don't feel as though i am getting as much from it as i would from one on one learning with another person. ideally, i would like at least one lesson a week to ensure a higher rate of renention of the lessons. i am not sure what kind of lessons will work the best for me. i have taken classes for other languages before, but in a large class, there is a different set up from a one on one setting. regardless i am confident in my abilities to take in the information given to me.
