I am proficient in Korean to roughly A2 level, as defined by the Common European Framework for Languages; which puts my level as 'upper-beginn er.'
I am currently living in Korea and would like to be able to participate fully in Korean society: understanding fellow teachers at my school; reading Korean books; following the news in Korea on TV and on the radio; understanding films at the cinema; being able to give announcements and presentations in Korean; even, one day, being able to write documents in Korean.
As I believe all language areas are linked, all language areas (grammar conversation etc) need improvement.
Looking for demanding teacher. Hopefully also use a wide range of materials.

I am a beginnner, I have no previous knowledge of korean, but I would like to learn it because my boyfriend is korean and his parents do not know a lot of english and I would like to communicate with them. I can dedicate as much time as I can to learning korean, just as long as it does not interfere with my classes in school. The qualities I am looking for in a teacher is patience because I am a slow learner, and reliability.

Hello,
I am interested in studying Korean. I have visited Korea several times and intend to do so again.
Actually, I have enrolled in language study courses twice before but have found the speed at which the classes progress just too fast after a few lessons.
I've been thinking about taking private lessons for some time now but wasn't sure how to find an apprpriate teacher. Frankly, you will need to be quite a patient and methodical teacher, willing to use a tried and true format as I want to move past the 'Konglish' phase-(but slowly, step by step.)
I plan on starting with one lesson a week, possibly more , depending on the rate of progress and retention.
