I would like to take Chinese language instruction along with my two daughters ages 9 and 6. They are adopted from China and we are planning a heritage trip in a few years and would love to learn the language. We live in the Encino Park area and prefer a teacher close by or willing to come to our home for instruction.

Hi.
I have been studying Japanese by myself for years, and I feel like I'm not getting anywhere, or making as much progress as I would like to.
I can't afford to spend money on classes and stuff. Plus I would like the one-on-one time with the teacher, so I can feel comfortable getting all the help I need.
I would prefer if 'Sensei' came to my house, but if they let me know beforehand, I wouldn't mind meeting them at their house or somewhere in the city.
I would also like if some one could tutor me twice a week.

I have recently been accepted for Teach for China and need to learn basic Mandarin before going (I leave in July2012). I have no prior experience in Mandarin and would be a beginner. I would like to focus more on conversation and understanding . Lessons two-three times a week for a couple of hours would most likely be good. I would like someone who is patient and willing to help me with my immediate language needs.
