Im learning to enhance the quality of my life as I have many relatives that speak this language.
I need a lot of conversation practise.
I would like personally to spend 10-12 hours a week learning this language. My goal will be to be as close to fluent as possible by August 2007.
I would like a teacher that can explain things well with many examples and who works the students hard with assignments.

I have had Portuguese lessons in the past but it was a long time ago so I am effectively a beginner.
I wish to learn to speak Portuguese fluently (business and social) because I am planning to move to Portugal to live permanently and to work there later this year.
I am currently not working so am able (and willing) to commit a reasonable amount of time to this - sufficient to learn the language well over the next 2-3 months.
I am looking for a patient and encouraging teacher either in a 1-2-1 setting or a small group lesson.

I speak very little portuguese (just enough to get by... but not very well). My wife is Brazilian but I am slow at language learning (unlike her) which just leads to frustration for us both if she has to act as my teacher.
I am a photographer and very visual person (this is the way I learn... by doing). I am just looking for once a week hour lessons to keep me motivated to study on my own and try to practice with my wife. Mornings work best for me.
