Hello,
I started learning Thai in August of 2013, by myself. I'm looking for more formal training online with a teacher. I'm learning Thai because of the passion I have for the food and people. I help at a Thai restaurant, and have Thai friends that I would like to speak Thai with. I will be traveling in the near future to Thailand as well, and would like to be able to communicate with native speakers on a basic level.
I would classify myself as a beginner. I've learned quite a bit of the basics on my own, but want help reaching the next level.
My reading and writing are better than my speaking currently. Grammar and general conversation is what I'd like to focus on.
I was studying for about 1 hour-a-day, but I can commit more if needed. I'm wanting to delve further into my learning.
I would like a teacher that is easy to talk to and help with questions I have. I would prefer a native Thai, but as long as they can teach well, I'm happy.

My mother is Thai and came to the U.S. when she was really young. Her speaking level in Thai is not high enough for her to teach me the language. We are traveling to Thailand next year to see our family I haven't seen since I was young and I would love to learn the language enough to communicate and understand fairly well. I would say my level is beginner for sure, but I am willing to put in a great amount of time for lessons.
