| Description |
Hi there,
I'm looking for a Japanese teacher who is willing to teach Japanese with communicative ESL methods using the target language only. I'm an elementary level student and finished the first Genki book. I lived in Japan, so I understand and can speak some colloquial Japanese. My aim is to practice communication and learn spoken Japanese. I am not interested in grammar or bookish expressions but real Japanese. I am not preparing for an exam, so what I'm looking for is a fun time speaking Japanese once or twice a week. Unfortunately I'm on a budget and can't pay more than 15/hour but would be a longterm regular student once or twice a week. I am always available after 4pm during the weekdays and live downtown. Hope you can teach me :-)

I used to be able to speak fluently in both Cantonese and mandarin as a child. I then moved to Maple Ridge with my family where the majority of the population is Caucasian. I took esl there to learn to speak, read and write in English. I told my family to speak English with me only to speed up the process of learning. Cantonese and mandarin were of no use in Maple Ridge. As the years went by, I had forgotten how to speak both of them. I can still understand most of it but I cannot speak it. I would like to learn how to speak Cantonese especially for several reasons: 1. I moved to Vancouver where Chinese language is quite useful 2. Career/job opportunities 3. To be able to communicate with my family better 4. Very good skill to have
I can dedicate about 2-3days a week for lessons.
