Other than watching an occasional anime movie or a subtitled film, I have no experience with Japanese. I considered taking a class at University of Central Florida before I graduated but did not have the time. I am considering applying for the JET program (Japanese English Teacher) by next December and would like to start to learn the Japanese language. Also interested in history and culture (more than anime unlike some students. :) )
I am currently working on my MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification before I seek a job locally (in the state of Florida) in the information technology industry. I graduated from University of Central Florida in July with my BSBA in Management Information Systems.
I do not have much of an ear for languages (attributed somewhat to hearing problems) but what I lack in aptitude I plan to make up with entusiasm. I can either pay for lessons or trade in English conversation practice or even computer maintenance. (I have over 5 years of experience in the IT industry.) I would like to start out at maybe an hour a week, possibly more if I feel I 'fit' well with the teacher. The lessons would start in February, and I would be willing to possibly take lessons with more than one person - I could even see if any of my friends are interested as well. Thanks for looking!

I am a beginner.
I wll be relocating to Asia soon and will be involved in a business project with Japan.
I would like to dedicate as much time as possible, since there is limited time before i move to Asia.

I would say that I am at the intermediate level in learning the Japanese language. I understand the grammar and sentence structure. And I know a little conversationa l Japanese and colloquial phrases.
I am learning Japanese because I plan to travel there and maybe even live there one day. I am a Manga artist; meaning I draw Japanese style comics. I would like to test my abilities there. I am extremely interested in Japanese culture and learning Japanese is a part of learning Japanese culture.
I feel I need to improve on my conversationa l speech and grammar. Although I can understand basic Japanese I would like to improve. I also feel that I need to work on Japanese writing. I know Katakana and some Hiragana. I also know some Kanji. But I still have a hard time with it.
I would like a teacher that is very fluent in Japanese. An actual Japanese person is perferred, but not a requirement.
