I am looking for someone to teach my son to speak Tagalog.
M y son was born in New Jersey. We moved to the Philippines in 2013. He would like to learn Filipino to converse with people around him, especially as he is starting college.
H e needs to learn basic Filipino, grammar and how to converse. He would look to spend a session a week, preferably on week-ends. Teacher should be patient and organized.

I would like to learn Tagalog, in order to live and work in the Philippines. I am a beginner and would like regular lessons, either in a small group or one-to-one. I am interested in learning conversationa l skills that allow me to handle everyday situations, like asking for directions, going to the market, ordering food in a restaurant, etc. Being able to speak freely in a converstation would be my primary goal. Eventually, I would also like to master the most important grammar rules and train basic reading and writing skills. I would like to have lessons twice a week with the option to increase or decrease frequency, depending on my progress. I am looking for a teacher who balances the practical and theoretical aspects of the language, who gives homework and can suggest good learning material.
