I am about to marry a man who is from India and who's native language is Kannada. I not only want to learn the language for myself, but I also need to learn the language for several reasons: To be able to communicate with his family who are in India. And also so that we can teach our future children together. It is very important to my fiancé that his native language is used for generations to come.
I am at a very beginner level. I do not know any of the language thus far. I would initially like to focus on conversationa l Kannada, and I would be able to dedicate some time once a week to a lesson. However, I would be able to practice daily with my fiancé and our friends.
I am looking for a teacher with whom I can relate to, who is patient and thorough, and is excellent at teaching language (English is the only language I know and I do not consider languages a strength of mine).
