Hi my name is Megan and I am currently looking into learning a new language. I am interested in Chinese and Mandarin as I was told that it is quite widely known more so than Japanese.
Alot of my jobs have been in the tourism industry and I have found that sometimes there is a language barrier, Chinese is the language that I have found is most often used and I think it would be a huge bonus to me career wise, but most of all I like the idea of being multi-lingual .
I am more than willing to donate as much time as needed to my study and am quite excited at the prospect. I sometimes don't read things properly and have to focus quite strongly on what I am doing, mostly I am looking for a patient teacher who doesn't mind when I ask questions or ask them to repeat something.

Hi there!
I am starting a job placement in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in April 2012. I am a beginner and want to be able to converse with locals outside the office - I am unlikely to need to know Brazilian Portuguese for work purposes. I am currently doing both Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone courses, but want to spend time with a native speaker to consolidate and improve my learning. My husband is looking for tuition in Mandarin one on one in the Cairns area. He has a little knowledge of the language, and would like to improve for travelling reasons. He is only here for January and February though, and would need something fairly soon for a few weeks. There is also the possibility of more lessons throughout the year.
