I am a beginner at Slovak language, i spend my winters in Slovakia so would like to be able to learn the language or at least the basics over the summer. I would like to be able to speak conversationa l slovak past the point of how are you? I am willing to spend as much time self learning but would like to spend at least 2 hours with a teacher on a 1 to 1 basis per week. I am looking for anyone that is willing to help me learn a new language and that has patience.

I am a 78 year old male with a Slovak heritage. I have located and visited my father's birthplace in Slovakia and want to expand my search there, but I want to have some ability to converse in Slovak. My parents spoke slovak when I was young but they did not want us to learn the language, so i am a beginner.
I am retired and have a great deal of flexibility in controlling my time.
I prefer to study with a teacher who is available within in a modest distance eg.30-40 miles.

A beginner in Slovak, however I travel to Slovakia often and speak with native Slovakians daily. I have the time to dedicate to an intensive program as I would like to progress quickly. My girlfriend and family are from and still live in Bratislava and would like to enhance my language skills in Slovak for casual conversation as well day to day living while in Bratislava.
