I have bought a house in Bulgaria which I visit as often as finances allow; about three times a year for one or two weeks each time.
I have picked up many nouns and a few verbs but I cannot form correct, grammatical sentences in order to converse with the villagers and become accepted by more of the locals.I can read in the Cyrillic alphabet, but I do not understand what I have read. I can just about write, phonetically.
Here, I am an Auxiliary Nurse working random shifts in the large local hospital.I would like to study in the mornings, possibly two each week.
I would like to learn how to converse and ask questions to the locals about WHY this, that or the other situation is the case. I want to be accepted for who I really am, not who they think English people are. The only way forward, I believe, is to learn to speak to people on their own terms, in their own language.
My computer is not configured with Cyrillic text, therefore I anticipate face-to-face learning or Skype to be our method of instruction.
